Welcome to Lee County Schools!

Lee County Schools are undergoing a transformation from classroom instruction to the final construction phase of our new middle school facility. In order to continue Growing in the Right Direction, we must provide our students opportunities to share, learn, and grow by utilizing technologies that are not only relevant for today but for the future. Classroom instruction must meet the growing needs of our diverse student population. We must not be content with yesterday’s curriculum and standards – because they cannot meet today’s educational challenges. By providing exceptional instruction by effective staff in a nurturing environment, our students will evolve into life-long learners who actively seek knowledge. Engaging our students on a higher academic level will ensure a brighter future for the entire county.

I am looking forward to the 2009-2010 school year with great anticipation. Our district is implementing strategies and programs to ensure the attainment of our academic goals and to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. Despite economically challenging times, we will provide our students the exceptional educational opportunities they deserve. We will continue to seek innovative avenues to ensure quality instruction and increased student achievement.

Your continued support and input are appreciated and are vital to the success of our district. I will continue to host ‘Saturday with the Superintendent’ on the second Saturday of each month at the district office from 10 am – 12 pm. This will serve as a meeting time for community members who may not have the opportunity to meet with me during regular district operating hours. The Lee County School Board meetings are generally held the third Monday of each month in the Lee Central High School cafeteria.

Come join the quest to make the Lee County School District a great place for our students to learn and grow in the right direction.

The mission of the Lee County School District is to ensure that all students are successful as members of an ever-changing society through effective teaching of a challenging and relevant curriculum.
